INSTALL
Install the heater only as described in the installation manual. The installer needs to be familiar with fuel-burning appliances and gas safety. A cabin install may require a licensed professional where local code requires it.
Propane (LP) only. Keep the cylinder and regulator outside the sauna, upright, in a ventilated spot. Keep the hose at least 12 inches from the heater, and keep it off sharp edges.
Set the heater on a non-combustible base. Do not set it on a wood floor or on grass. In a tent, use a stone paver.
Clearances are measured from the outside of the stone basket. Without the heat shield: 6 inches to each side and the rear, 16 inches in front, and 50 inches to the ceiling. The optional heat shield brings the cabin side and rear clearance to 4 inches. The shield stays at least 1 inch off any wall and must not touch a wall or a bench. In a SaunaTrekker tent, the 6 inch side and rear clearances apply with or without the shield.
In a tent, install it only in a SaunaTrekker or SaunaTrekker XL, in the corner that has the lower air intake. In a cabin, provide a lower intake of at least 54 square inches and an upper exhaust of at least 39 square inches on the opposite wall, near the ceiling, discharging outdoors. Leave those vents fully open while the heater is running. There is no electrical connection.
