This Western Red Cedar 1×4 tongue-and-groove paneling is milled with a nickel-gap profile, meaning each board installs with a small, consistent reveal between faces. That shadow line gives a finished sauna wall a clean, intentional look rather than the flat appearance of tight-fit T&G — and it also allows the wood to move naturally with heat and humidity cycles without panels buckling against one another.

The vertical grain orientation is the reason this board performs well in a sauna environment. Vertical grain cedar is cut so the growth rings run perpendicular to the face, which means the surface expands and contracts more evenly, holds its shape better under repeated heating, and is less prone to checking or cupping over time compared with flat-sawn material. Clear Grade A+ means the face is free of knots and defects, so the grain pattern reads consistently across the entire wall or ceiling surface.

Available in ten lengths — 1 through 10 feet — you can order exactly what your layout requires and minimize offcuts. Shorter lengths suit ceiling soffits, bench surrounds, and accent walls; longer lengths are ideal for continuous runs on primary walls.

Under 40 pieces generally ships FedEx Ground in cardboard. Over 40 pieces generally ships LTL with a liftgate on a wood pallet. The longest board in the order sets the rate tier.
